Ann, over at Books on the Nightstand, has produced a post that capitalizes on what I think is one of the coolest ideas floating around right now… build your own virtual book conference. Basically, she came up with a theme (books she likes right now) and she put together a collection of online videos with the authors, readings and other notes. So now you can click your way through her conference, titled Pixelated, at your own pace.
I want to do this. This could be really fun and you could tie in all kinds of content from various social media. All I need is a theme and some free time… hmmmm.
I saw this over the weekend and tried it out myself. It’s called Wordle and is a pretty neat way to get a stylish snapshot tag cloud of your own site. You get to control the fonts used and colors and have a little control over the layout. Who knew that I talked about banned books so much?
I ran across this photo over on the Freshome site and had to share… all it’s lacking is a pot of coffee and my rear-end on the couch. What a perfectly small reading spot.
I’ve tried dozens of notebooks. All shapes, sizes and prices… but I always come back to my simple pocket sized no-ruled Moleskines. I just haven’t found a better notebook that fits my needs. Which is why I entered this year’s 2008 Moleskinerie Fall Giveaway as fast as I could. It seems pretty painless, just send in a snail mail addy and if you’re not selected they automatically enter you in the next drawing. It started today and names are drawn three times a week for five weeks.
Check it out for yourself and good luck (though deep down I really hope I win)!
