The theorist over at fade theorymentioned a great blog. Conversations in the Book Trade the three-month old blog is the latest creation of a screen-writer in South Korea and features lengthy interviews with a bunch of small-publishers.
I hope they can keep it up. It will be a fun one to see who else turns up in the months ahead.
They seem to be going after the “Pimp Your Ride” crowd.
Basically Penguin will start selling (end of November) real books by real authors… but with no covers. Apparently they hope people will buy the blanks and design their own covers and share with the world.
I’m not sure this gimmick will catch on. Just seems kinda hokey. Should be fun to watch though. I wonder if there will be a price difference in a book with a cover and without a cover?
Penguin Books has started a blog. It’s about two weeks old and sports nine posts today. It’ll be interesting to see how a big house like that handles a “conversational maketing” outlet like blogging.
