Book Art Exhibit

I finally made it over to the Birmingham Library for the Book Arts Exhibit and I wasn’t disappointed. Lots of neat bindings and materials. But my faves, as usual, was the letterpress work. Most impressive. And a bunch of it is for sale too.

I posted pics after the jump. The name under each picture is the bookartist’s name.
Don’t forget to check out the book artist podcasts too!

These are the only pics worth posting. The exhibit is in the Bham library’s 4th floor glass-ceiling-atrium gallery. This allows for wonderful natural light which allows you to see all of the textures in the handmade papers and makes the ink colors pop. But it’s hell trying get a photo where there is minimal glare from the glass cases/frames. So this is as good as I could do.

  1. He was definitely the most prolific there. I haven’t seen/found a site for him. Which is a shame because his pieces at the show were priced between $25 and $65. I like affordable letterpress!
I’m sure once he graduates his site/press work will be posted here with everyone else:
