Adding audio

Part of the new set-up here is my hopes of adding fresher content. Which, of course, has lead me to research podcasts. There are only a handful that I keep up with, but in all my recent digging around I ran across this local podcast aggregate site and then another blogger calls for a local podacasters meet-up.

I might just have to swing by the old Pita Stop and get the scoop. I think it’d be neat to jump out there and post some interviews with a few of the bazillion authors passing though Birmingham. Maybe an interview with some of you cool book design bloggers too…

Preserving bound books

There’s a new site that’s up and running in an effort to preserve the bound book. Unlike many folks upset about “digital media” intruding on print media’s turf, the folks at Future of the Book seem to be operating with a much broader perspective. They’re even working in digital printing and media into some of their projects. It should be fun to watch how they evolve and just how myopic their vision does/doesn’t get.

Flickr finds

Here’s a kind soul that has compiled a HUGE list of all the Flickr groups that are book and typography related. But be warned: You can kill an entire week just lurking around on this list!
