Nicholas Sparks is signing Dear John this Thursday (11/9) at Books-A-Million inside Brookwood Mall. Line numbers will be distributed beginning at 9 AM the day of the event.

I just found a book-centric forum buried in al.com. It’s still active with just a handful of posts each month. But it’s been running since 2002. Good to know that Birmingham has things like this out there. I just wish they weren’t so hard to find!
Jim Baggett of the Birmingham Library is leading an hour-long walking tour of downtown’s notorious historic sites. It’s planned for October 27th at 5:45 pm. Their blog says it’ll cover “murders, mysteries and fallen women”.
How fun does that sound? The weather is perfect and the event is free, though you do need to call them and make a reservation.
