After spending years over on this side of the pond, Bill Bryson has gone back to merry old England and got himself appointed to some committee to preserve something out in the rural parts of somewhere.
I just hope the new job doesn’t keep him from putting pen to paper. Hmmmm, maybe this is just research and his next book will be an expose on the inner workings of small town British city councils! ooooo! ahhhhh! You may think that lame, but Bryson could make it funny.
Chabon’s newest book is out and I haven’t picked up a copy yet. I saw a few in the bookstore, but after reading about the limited edition silk screened slipcover, how can I not hold out and hunt for my own box? So I’m passing on the hardbacks. It’s true, I am a sucker for book marketing ploys, but this really is cool.
Speaking of book marketing… one of the industry’s most energetic “pusherman o’ the printed page” is becoming one of the blogosphere’s most prolific reviewers and has just posted about Chabon’s book.

I have never tried NoveList before, but was impressed by the information on the BPL’s blog. So I’m passing it along in case you’re ever looking for a resource like this. I can think of a few times where I wish I had known this was available. I’ll have to put it through its paces and pass along a ‘review’.
