Natta in the news

Andre NattaBham Terminal founder Andre Natta has a swank write-up in one of Birmingham’s local papers (the pics aren’t bad either). Congrats to Christina Crowe on the well-written peek into what makes Andre tick. He deserves to be in the spotlight, after all this time of trying to cast the spotlight on others around town.

Also, take note of the mention of a Wordcamp in Birmingham this September!!! It’s going to be a blast!

Bookish Blog Bait

The ever-busy blogger behind kimbooktu.com has undertaken a new initiative, the Bookish Blogs directory. The goal seems to be to compile a massive list of all things booky and bloggy online and allow visitors to stroll through the listings, viewing screenshots, descriptions and leaving comments.

I’ve already snagged a couple new RSS feeds (because I just don’t have enough of those coming in). So check it out and add yours to the list, if your blog fodder is approporaite.

Just in time

My Bookmarks magazine came in the mail the other day and just in time, as I am making a comprehensive “to be read” list. My wife has me motivated to read! We are expecting a little girl, in the next few weeks, so my wife has been online reserving books, at the library, left and right to cram in as much as she can before loosing her last few free moments for the foreseeable future (we already have a 2-year-old boy running around pulling books off shelves). So I too am going to cram. Which probably means an uptick in non-fiction, as good fiction must not be hurried. Though, if I just read bad fiction….

My review is up

The Future of the Internet and How to Stop ItLast night, I finished Zittrain’s The Future of the Internet and How to Stop It. Interesting read, but waaaaay too long (I have started reading his blog though). You can tell it has the academic slant to it. What passes as a “full review” here on {head}:sub/head is up over at LibraryThing.
